Job summary

Centerville Baptist Church's childcare program seeks a caregiver to supervise and nurture children from 6 weeks to 24 months, providing individualized care, happiness and safety.

The role includes shifts 6:30–12:30 or 12:30–6:00, with responsibilities such as creating age-appropriate activities, supporting infant development, and keeping parents informed with daily reports. This is a nurturing, mission-driven position in Chesapeake.

Qualifications

• Ensure play, sleep, and changing areas are kept clean.
• Complete all mandatory training.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and caring environment.
• Aid in infant development.
• Monitor age appropriate milestone achievements.
• Create age appropriate activities.
• Give bottles and feedings as provided by guardians.
• Soothe infants by singing and/or rocking.
• Supervise infants while playing on the floor with age appropriate toys.
• Follow safe sleep practices for crib naps.
• Keep daily reports for the parents.
