Job summary

Wonderspring seeks an Infant Assistant Teacher to support a Lead Teacher at the New Market West Center in Philadelphia. You will help implement daily lesson plans, supervise infants, and help maintain a nurturing, relationship-based classroom environment.

This role requires a High School Diploma and 2+ years of experience with children, plus the ability to keep information confidential and obtain required clearances. Excellent teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience working with children, infants and toddlers preferred.
• Strong teamwork and flexibility.
• Ability to keep information private.
• Basic knowledge of childcare rules.
• Must obtain all required clearances and complete a Health Assessment with TB screening prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans, learning activities, and classroom routines.
• Supervise children in your care
• Assume the lead teacher's classroom responsibilities in their absence.
• Assist with all tasks associated with the daily schedule
• Teach children how to use acceptable alternatives to challenging behavior to reduce conflict by using provide guidance approaches such as FLIP IT and Second Step.
• Observe, document, and celebrate each child’s progress, sharing their victories (big and small) with proud parents.

Wonderspring, a nonprofit early childhood education organization, is seeking a dedicated team member to support our Lead Teacher at our New Market West Center in the Infant Classroom.
