Job Title: Industry Certifications Faculty Coordinator
Type of Position: Faculty
The Industry Certifications Coordinator is responsible for implementing and managing industry-based certifications for credit and non-credit programs in the Industry and Manufacturing Programs Division. This position is a direct report to the Dean of the Industry and Manufacturing Programs.
The coordinator will collaborate with Department Chairs, Program Directors, Academic Leadership, and Faculty on and off campus to develop and support the advancement of micro-credentialing opportunities for current students, local industry partners, and members of the community. The certification coordinator will create customized training including short courses, workshops, and conferences for business and industry as well as for promoting industry recognized certification/micro-credentials.
The individual is committed to positive actions for fostering good relationships and esprit de corps among co-workers, departments, other units in the college, with students, and contacts outside the college.
Minimum Qualifications:
Hold a master’s degree or higher in the teaching discipline; OR Hold a master’s degree in any discipline, with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline; OR Hold a bachelor’s degree in the teaching discipline; OR Hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline, with 12 undergraduate and/or graduate hours in the teaching discipline or related field; OR Hold an associate’s degree in the teaching discipline PLUS have 3 years of relevant full-time work experience; OR Hold a college certificate or an industry-recognized credential/certificate in the teaching discipline PLUS have 3 years of relevant full-time work experience.
Required: Strong managerial and administrative experience. Leadership skills and ability to lead work teams. Basic computer skills, including MS Office. Experience developing and managing budgets. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license. Must comply with established college policies and standards.
Preferred: Knowledge of area industry, preferably in manufacturing or construction industries, machining, agribusiness, and/or welding and fabrication techniques. Grant writing/management experience and an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field highly desirable.
