Ferrara/KME is seeking an experienced welder for large, custom fire apparatus components. You will weld from shop orders using GMAW, read prints, and set parts with fixtures to achieve tight dimensional control.

This role emphasizes lean practices, teamwork, and safety. You will participate in continuous improvement, document quality checks, and support training for new hires in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Competenze

• Basic welding knowledge including GMAW processes.
• Knowledge of Lean Methodologies.
• Ability to read and understand basic assembly prints and weld symbols.

Mansioni

• Work from shop orders, specifications, prints and instructions.
• Review material and product requirements; ensure parts are cut and prepared as prescribed.
• Set parts in assembly fixture, position, layout and clamp for dimensional accuracy.
• Select welding parameters per specified weld procedures; minimize distortion and ensure weld quality.
• Manipulate large, heavy units to optimize welding flow and workflow between areas.
• Support training and orientation programs for new and transferring employees and report results.
