Job summary

Stantec seeks a Process Engineering Technical Lead in the United States (Houston area) to oversee industrial water and wastewater projects. The role leads design development, conducts mass/energy analyses, and delivers major engineering outputs while mentoring junior staff and guiding technical standards.

The position requires extensive experience (15+ years) in industrial processes, PE licensure, and a strong client-facing presence to drive business growth and project success.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in industrial water, wastewater, process engineering.
• Ability to develop and review process calculations including mass balances, energy balances, hydraulic analyses, equipment sizing, and treatment process evaluations.
• Experience reviewing PFDs, P&IDs, process narratives, technical reports, and engineering specs.
• Ability to serve as a discipline lead on complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Proven ability to translate client challenges into practical engineering solutions.
• Experience supporting business development through client engagement and workshops.
• Strong verbal and written communication with regulators and executives.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical excellence initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of technical approaches, process designs, and major deliverables.
• Provide technical direction to multidisciplinary teams across disciplines.
• Perform technical reviews and quality assurance for project outcomes.
• Support project managers with scope, budgeting, staffing, and risk management.
• Participate in client workshops, site visits, and commissioning activities.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and establish technical standards.
• Represent Stantec externally via conferences and client events.
• Lead or support technical proposal strategy and capture planning.
