Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Wastewater Operator for our PA Metem Site to manage the operation and maintenance of an industrial wastewater treatment plant. You will control acid neutralization/chemical precipitation, monitor controls, and ensure regulatory compliance across permit parameters.

You will also oversee hazardous waste handling, shipments, and coordination with EHS for safety and reporting, while maintaining logs and supporting daily plant operations and maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years operating experience in an industrial wastewater plant.
• Basic computer skills (email, data logging).
• HS Diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment in the treatment plant to control flow and processing of discharged material.
• Monitor system controls and adjust valves to regulate effluent flow.
• Maintain operation logs including flow rates, pH, and discharge readings.
• Collect samples and perform routine tests to ensure compliance.
• Manage hazardous waste streams and coordinate waste shipments.
• Coordinate with EHS for safety, permits, and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee bulk material receiving and deliveries.
• Perform PM and cleaning on equipment.
