Job summary

Weston & Sampson Services in South Carolina seeks an Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator to support contract operations and maintenance for municipal and industrial clients from Columbia or Greenville offices.

The ideal candidate will hold a South Carolina Physical/Chemical Wastewater Treatment Operator license, Grade D or higher, and have hands-on experience with routine rounds, sampling, equipment maintenance, chemical handling, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
SC Physical/Chemical Wastewater Operator license, Grade D or higher, preferred/required depending on project.
Trainee license or out-of-state license eligible for SC reciprocity may be considered.

Responsibilities

Operate wastewater treatment systems safely and in accordance with client requirements and permits.
Perform routine operator rounds, inspect equipment, record data, and identify conditions needing adjustment or escalation.
Collect samples, perform basic tests, read meters, and maintain compliance records.
Monitor and adjust treatment processes including pH, chemical feed, and solids handling.
Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot pumps, valves, and related equipment.
Support permit compliance and communicate abnormal conditions; assist corrective actions.
Handle chemicals safely following safety procedures and PPE rules.
Communicate with clients, supervisors, labs, contractors, and other operators.
