Industrial Technology Teacher - Secondary (Applicant Pool)

Job Details
  • Location: TBD
  • Reports To: Building Principal
  • Work Schedule/FLSA Status: per negotiated agreement / Exempt
  • Salary Schedule 2024/25: Step 1 with Bachelor's: $50,500; with Master's: $55,550
  • Salary Schedule 2025/26: Step 1 with Bachelor's: $51,200; with Master's: $57,820
Position Purpose

Plans, teaches, and facilitates learning for students, creating a positive environment and working collaboratively with all stakeholders to meet student needs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited institution
  • Valid NE Teaching Certificate or ability to obtain one with endorsements in Industrial Technology
  • Demonstrated belief that all students can learn
  • Excellent attendance and communication skills
  • Knowledge of best instructional practices in Industrial Technology
  • Professional verification of teaching performance or student teaching experience
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and uphold ethical standards
Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop students’ cognitive skills and respect for learning
  • Foster students’ self-esteem and understanding of diversity
  • Integrate leadership, technology, and communication into curriculum
  • Plan and guide learning to meet objectives
  • Maintain a conducive classroom atmosphere
  • Assess student progress effectively
  • Use effective instructional methods and materials
  • Build positive relationships with students and communicate with parents/staff
  • Engage in ongoing professional development
  • Collaborate to support school and district goals
Additional Duties

Perform other tasks as assigned by the Principal or administrators.

Equipment and Travel

Use of SMART boards, iPads, and office equipment; limited travel may be required.

Physical and Mental Demands
  • Respond rapidly in emergencies
  • Require organization, time management, and interpersonal skills
Interrelations
  • Interact with district personnel and stakeholders
  • Work under supervision of building administration
  • Handle diverse situations tactfully and professionally
Employee Expectations
  • Perform duties during scheduled hours unless approved otherwise
  • Maintain appropriate professional attire
Terms of Employment

Full-time, exempt position governed by Nebraska laws, district policies, and collective bargaining agreements if applicable.

Requirements
  • Valid Nebraska Teaching License or equivalent
  • Background check and legal work authorization
  • Completion of tuberculosis test if required
  • Acceptance of employment terms via contract
