Job summary
Shive-Hattery's Quad Cities office is seeking an early-career structural engineer with 0-3 years of experience to design structural solutions for industrial, commercial, and educational projects, with a focus on industrial sectors.
You will collaborate with experienced engineers, participate in site visits, and support drawing production while working under licensed engineers. Iowa PE eligibility is expected after gaining experience; travel and site PPE may be required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis on Structural Engineering.
- Master’s in Structural Engineering preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Design structural solutions for industrial, commercial, and educational projects, focusing on industrial sectors.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality designs.
- Provide support in design and drawing production within the structural discipline.
- Perform shop drawing reviews, field data collection, and field data entry.
- Handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Work under licensed structural engineers for mentorship.
