Job summary

Shive-Hattery’s Quad Cities office seeks a Structural Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to lead industrial, commercial, and education projects. You will design structures, oversee drawings and specs, and manage scope, schedule, and budgets.

You’ll mentor junior staff while coordinating with teams, clients, and contractors across multiple projects. You should hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, be licensed or eligible for licensure in Iowa, and be proficient in Revit and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• 5 to 10 years of structural engineering project design leadership.
• Professional Engineer licensure in Iowa or eligible for licensure.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for industrial, commercial and education projects.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and oversee construction drawings and specs.
• Establish/ manage scope, schedule and budget for projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers on design practices.
• Lead design from schematic through construction documents.
• Interface with clients and contractors on project issues.
• Manage multiple projects and shop drawing reviews.
