Job summary

SJS Industrial, Virginia Beach, VA, seeks a full-time painter with booth experience to operate the paint booth and apply industrial or marine coatings to metal components.

The position runs Monday through Friday, 12:30 PM to 9 PM, starting on first shift and moving to second shift with occasional overtime.

Pay is $20–$28 per hour, based on experience, plus 7 holidays, 2 floating holidays, 80 hours PTO, and comprehensive medical/dental/vision benefits; resume required.

Qualifications

• Must pass an in-person spray paint test
• Knowledge of paint types and mixing
• Knowledge of paint gun maintenance
• Experience with industrial/marine wet spray painting
• C12 certification is a plus
• Ability to read and follow safety paperwork

Responsibilities

• Start up and shut down paint booth and curing cycle
• Mix paint according to standards
• Inspect applicator guns and related tools before shift
• Schedule preventative maintenance with technicians
• Apply coatings to achieve correct mil thickness
• Report booth and equipment status to senior staff
• Suggest improvements to speed/quality/efficiency
• Perform shift closeout and housekeeping
• Other production tasks as assigned by management
