SJS Industrial in Virginia Beach, VA is hiring a Paint Assistant (2nd Shift) to support experienced painters in marine, industrial or commercial projects.

You will assist with surface prep, coating applications, masking, and equipment cleanup, with a Monday–Friday schedule (6:00 AM–2:30 PM or 12:30 PM–9:00 PM) and a 40-hour week.

The role offers $18–$20 per hour plus 80 hours PTO, seven paid federal holidays, and benefits; safety-focused teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in painting, surface prep, masking, and coating operations.
• Ability to learn coating methods and follow safety guidelines.
• Must work well in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist painters with surface preparation, coating applications, and finishing activities.
• Hang products for paint and perform surface prep tasks like sanding and cleaning.
• Mix paints, primers, and coatings per specs; assist with masking and protection.
• Support coating application using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Load, move, and organize materials and equipment at job sites.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe state.
