Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a contract-to-hire technical support specialist in Elgin, IL to serve as the primary technical contact for customers. You will provide phone, virtual, and on-site support, deliver software training, and collaborate with sales and engineering to meet customer needs.

Ideal candidates will have experience with manufacturing software, CNC machinery, and strong troubleshooting skills with a consultative approach. This onsite role offers a competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting manufacturing software, CNC machinery, or industrial equipment.
• Background in customer success, technical support, applications support, or training.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working directly with customers in a consultative capacity.
• Ability to manage multiple customer priorities while maintaining a high level of service.
• Ability and willingness to travel to customer locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide phone, virtual, and on-site technical support to customers.
• Deliver hands-on software training classes at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot software issues and coordinate with internal teams.
• Present technical concepts to small and mid-sized groups.
• Support sales during customer visits and demonstrations.
• Maintain accurate customer documentation and support records.
