Job summary

Lycoming Engines, a Textron Systems affiliate, invites you to join our internship program to design and develop software tools that optimize manufacturing processes. You'll collaborate with manufacturing engineers to identify inefficiencies and build software-driven solutions across PLCs, ERP/MES interfaces, and data analysis tools.

During the internship (06/01/2026-08/07/2026), you'll gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to real projects while networking with interns and leaders

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Development/Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Data Analytics.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, JavaScript, or C#; familiarity with Power BI, MATLAB, LabVIEW, PLC programming languages, PlantSim.
• Industrial Engineering knowledge in process optimization, lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
• Familiarity with CAD; IoT, robotics, or SCADA systems.
• Strong problem solving and teamwork, with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software tools to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to identify inefficiencies and provide software-driven solutions.
• Create systems and tools that integrate manufacturing equipment with ERP or MES.
• Work with PLC programming for automation.
• Develop tools for real-time data collection and analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve bottlenecks and improve process efficiency.
