Job summary

AFC Materials Group, headquartered in Lake in the Hills, IL, is seeking an Industrial Sewing Operator to join our team. You will operate industrial sewing machines to fabricate mesh belting and other custom parts, reading job packets and working with minimal supervision.

The role requires handling wide and long materials with precision and a hands-on, mechanically inclined approach. We offer a Monday-Friday schedule (5am-1:30pm) with competitive compensation ($17-$20/hr) and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Operate industrial sewing machines to produce mesh/solid belting and related products.
• Read job orders and packets and carry out the work independently with minimal supervision.
• Handle, position, and feed wide and long material through the machine safely and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to produce mesh/solid belting and related products to specification.
• Select the correct sewing operation for each job, applying a working knowledge of how machines and stitch methods differ.
• Fabricate parts and products beyond belting as orders require.
• Read job orders and packets and carry out the work independently with minimal supervision.
• Inspect your own work for accuracy and quality throughout each job.
• Clean and maintain the work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
