Roll Rite, a Safe Fleet company, is seeking a Tarp Manufacturing associate to assemble tarp systems and operate equipment for tarp fabrication. The role involves reading prints, following work orders, and contributing to a safe manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate on parts processing, packing, and shipping preparation while maintaining equipment and workspace, with opportunities to cross-train across departments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED plus 1 year related experience or training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos; write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to read manufacturing prints and understand work orders.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and use hand tools.
  • Ability to perform basic math and measurements in manufacturing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Process parts and assemble tarp components as directed.
  • Operate sewing, grommet, and welding equipment used in tarp fabrication.
  • Read and interpret work orders and instructions.
  • Pack and label products for shipment; maintain clean work area.
  • Cross-train in other areas; follow all safety guidelines.

Job Description - Tarp Manufacturing

Work for the Smart Safety Company

Roll Rite, a Safe Fleet company, and a leader in the truck equipment manufacturing industry, is looking for a Tarp Manufacturing associate to work as part of a team for manufacturing of complete tarp systems and assembling of Automated Tarp Systems.

This important team member partners with others to manufacture Roll-Rite systems according to company processes. The Tarp Manufacturing associate performs and assembles components for tarp fabrication.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
  • Processing parts.
  • Operate industrial sewing machine, grommet machine, miller roller welder, kabar welder and floor welder.
  • Read a tape measure, use hand tools and semi-automatic manufacturing equipment.
  • Must be able to read manufacturing prints.
  • Read and understand work orders and work instructions.
  • Routine daily cleaning and equipment maintenance.
  • Confirm quality of product.
  • Prepare product for shipment including packing and labeling products.
  • Maintain product workspace.
  • Ability to cross train in other areas and departments.
  • Follows all safety guidelines and wears proper personal protective equipment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using fractions.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. Working environment is a climate-controlled manufacturing/warehouse facility. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. A minimum level of physical dexterity is required.
