Job summary

Hunter Douglas is seeking a fabric sewing specialist at Carole Fabrics to join a long‑standing team dedicated to quality window treatments. You will operate industrial sewing machines to sew draperies and valances, verify measurements, follow patterns, and uphold safety and quality standards.

This role requires standing for long periods, reading a tape measure accurately, and staying focused on details while producing consistent results.

  • Operate industrial sewing machines to sew draperies, valances, and other window treatments.
  • Work with different fabrics and materials according to production requirements.
  • Review work tickets and verify measurements before sewing.
  • Follow patterns, measurements, and written work instructions.
  • Sew accurately while maintaining quality and production standards.
  • Iron and press finished products to achieve a clean appearance.
  • Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and consistency.
  • Safely operate sewing machines and production equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures.
  • Communicate quality or safety concerns to your supervisor.
  • Perform other duties to support the production team.

Position Overview

In this role, you’ll handle fabric, sew draperies and valances, and ensure all products meet our high-quality standards.

  • Review work tickets and verify measurements before sewing.
  • Follow patterns, measurements, and written work instructions.

  • Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and consistency.
  • Safely operate sewing machines, hand tools, and production equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
  • Communicate any quality or safety concerns to your supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the production team.
Who you are
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience using industrial sewing machines and general sewing skills.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
  • Basic knowledge of fabrics and production equipment.
  • Attention to detail with accuracy in names, numbers, and spelling.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Capable of standing for long periods and lifting regularly.
  • Able to pass a color-blind test.
  • Strong focus on safety and compliance with workplace rules.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive hand and wrist motions.
