Job summary

Nestlé USA seeks a skilled maintenance professional to operate and maintain boiler, refrigeration, HVAC and utility systems. You will monitor gauges, respond to emergencies, and ensure continuous production by managing water chemistry and facility utilities.

The role requires Ohio boiler license, 3+ years of related experience, and ability to work 12-hour shifts with overtime. Benefits include 401k, health coverage, tuition assistance, and more.

Qualifications

  • License required: Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator or Third Class Stationary Engineer.
  • 3+ years in operation and maintenance of boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, and utility systems.
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration and electrical controls preferred.
  • EPA refrigerant recovery certification preferred.
  • HazMat training preferred and willingness to join a HazMat team.
  • Excellent handwriting and attention to detail.
  • Able to climb stairs and stand long hours.
  • Awareness of warning lights, alarms, and hazardous conditions.
  • Adherence to GMPs and safety procedures.
  • Able to work 12-hour shifts with overtime and rotate schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Start systems and monitor operation.
  • Read gauges; adjust to control fluids, pressure and temperature.
  • Maintain refrigeration, steam, air, hot water, water treatment, glycol systems.
  • Use water chemistry knowledge to service equipment.
  • Monitor building utilities.
  • Respond to refrigeration emergencies on the production floor.
  • Ensure production continuity related to refrigeration and HVAC.
  • Dismantle and test components; troubleshoot and repair utility systems.
  • Pipefitting and plumbing repair.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Schedule: Wednesday-Friday. 5:30pm-6am. Weekend, every other Saturday

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • Starts systems and observes operation.
  • Read gauges and instruments and adjust mechanisms to control level of fluid, pressure and temperature in system.
  • Maintain proper functioning of refrigeration systems, steam generation, compressed air, hot water, treated water, glycol and other systems.
  • Use knowledge of water chemistry to maintain and service equipment.
  • Maintain monitoring of utilities used by the building.
  • Respond to emergency calls regarding refrigeration on production floor.
  • Ensure continued production operation as it relates to refrigeration equipment, utilities and HVAC equipment.
  • Dismantle malfunctioning system and test components using electrical mechanical and pneumatic testing equipment. Troubleshoot, adjust and /or repair utility systems equipment as problems/deviations occur.
  • Pipefitting and plumbing repair.
  • Other duties assigned.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • State of Ohio, High Pressure Boiler Operator or Third Class Stationary Engineer License is required.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Associate must have at least 3 years of experience in the operation, repair and maintenance of boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, and utility equipment/systems.
  • Experience in ammonia refrigeration and electrical controls preferred.
  • EPA refrigerant recovery certification preferred.
  • HAZMAT training certification preferred (will train). Must be willing and able to participate on a HAZMAT team.
  • Must have legible handwriting with attention to detail.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and stand for long periods of time.
  • Detect and understand warning lights, buzzers, alarms or instruments indicating hazardous conditions or circumstances which may cause equipment or product loss and physical harm.
  • Must observe good manufacturing practices (GMPs)
  • Must follow safety rules and procedures.
  • Must be able to work 12 hours per day on an assigned shift with some daily overtime and weekend overtime.
  • Must be able to work a rotating 3-4 schedule on assigned shift.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

The approximate pay for this position is $34.35-$41.82. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
