Job summary

Securitas USA in Cedar Rapids, IA is hiring an Industrial Security Officer on the night shift (Thu-Sun, 12-hour shifts). The role focuses on access control, patrols, and maintaining a safe environment for client sites.

You will engage with client employees and guests, report safety issues, and follow post orders using security technology. Required are HS diploma, age 18+, and strong customer service; prior security, law enforcement, or military experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed. Must be able to work independently in a fast paced environment.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
• Driver certification.
• Must be comfortable with heights and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Ensure that all post orders are followed and assigned rounds are completed.
• Provide customer service and information to the client's employees and guests.
• Utilizing technology devices throughout shift.
• Conduct heavy foot patrols of the property during various weather conditions.
• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.

Wage: $18.00/HR

3rd Shift: Thurs - Sun (12 Hour Shifts)

The Industrial Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.
