Job summary

Ōnin Staffing is seeking an Industrial Saw Operator to precision-cut structural steel, pipes, and metal materials. You will read shop drawings, load heavy stock, and verify tolerances with calipers and micrometers. Training will occur, with a shift transition after initial workouts.

A safety-first approach and strong teamwork are essential. The role offers Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays, training on 1st shift then 2nd shift, and competitive hourly pay plus a second-shift differential.

Qualifications

1+ years of experience operating industrial metalworking saws.
Ability to read shop drawings and precise measuring instruments.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long durations.
Overhead cranes or forklifts experience is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Set up, calibrate, and operate industrial saws to cut structural steel, pipes, and metal materials to exact specifications.
Read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, and cut lists to ensure accurate sizing and tolerances.
Load and unload heavy metal stock using overhead cranes, forklifts, or handling equipment.
Measure completed cuts with calipers, tape measures, and micrometers to verify ISO/ASME quality standards.
Perform basic preventive maintenance on saw equipment (blade changes, coolant top-offs, chip removal).
Adhere to safety policies, PPE requirements, and maintain a clean 5S workspace.

What You’ll Do as an Industrial Saw Operator:

Set up, calibrate, and operate industrial saws (band saws, cold saws, or cut-off saws) to cut structural steel, pipes, and metal raw materials to exact specifications.
Read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, and cut lists to ensure accurate material sizing and tolerances.
Load and unload heavy metal stock using overhead cranes, forklifts, or material handling equipment.
Measure completed cuts using calipers, tape measures, and micrometers to verify conformance to strict ISO/ASME quality standards.
Perform basic preventive maintenance on saw equipment (blade changes, coolant top-offs, chip removal).
Adhere strictly to company safety policies, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and maintain a clean 5S workspace.

Skills and Experience

What You’ll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:

1+ years of experience operating industrial metalworking saws or related heavy manufacturing equipment preferred.
Ability to read shop drawings, engineering prints, and precise measuring instruments (fractional/decimal inches and metric).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long durations, and work in a active manufacturing environment.
Experience operating overhead cranes or forklifts is a plus (onsite certification available).
Strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and a team-oriented mindset.
