Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial sandblasting experience or training.
• Experience with heavy metals is a plus.
• Knowledge of SSPC surface prep standards.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible schedule and ability to stand long shifts.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting equipment to clean, smooth, and prepare surfaces for painting.
• Remove old paint, rust, scale, and other contaminants from structural steel, piping and vessels.
• Prepare work area including taping, sanding, surface prep, and mixing.
• Ensure the correct use of sandblasting media materials.
• Utilize PPE to perform duties.
• Read and interpret product data sheets.
• Operate sandblasting equipment and DA sander, drill, etc.
• Perform surface inspections and make adjustments.
• Maintain and clean sandblasting equipment regularly.
• Prepare and maintain work areas, ensuring cleanliness.
• Communicate with supervisors to meet deadlines.
• Promote and follow company safety protocols.
