Job summary

Udelhoven Oilfield System Services, Inc. (UOSS) in Kenai, AK is seeking a skilled Sandblaster / Coater to prepare surfaces by abrasive blasting and apply industrial coatings to tanks, vessels, piping and structural steel.

Work spans shop and field environments with occasional offshore travel. The role requires a safety-first mindset, the ability to read coating specifications, and the stamina to work in confined spaces and Alaska weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of industrial sandblasting and coating preferred.
• Alaska Hazardous Paint Handler’s Card required or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel offshore and live aboard platforms for short periods.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and medical evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Perform abrasive blasting to remove rust and contaminants.
• Prepare surfaces by masking, cleaning, grinding, and inspecting prior to coating.
• Mix and apply primers, epoxies, polyurethanes, and specialty coatings via spray systems.
• Conduct dry film thickness measurements and visual inspections.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot blasting and coating equipment.
• Follow PPE and safety protocols; work offshore when required.
• Complete required documentation and report safety or quality issues.
• Collaborate with supervisors, team members, and clients.
