Job summary

Weyerhaeuser is hiring a Safety Manager for the McComb, MS Lumber operations. The role focuses on building a safety-driven culture, leading safety programs, and working with the site Leadership Team to drive compliance and performance.

The successful candidate will steer safety leadership, incident investigations, and training, aligning with OSHA standards and site goals. This position reports to the Unit Manager and emphasizes collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety and Health or related field or equivalent
• Experience leading health & safety in manufacturing or industrial setting
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations/requirements
• Ability to develop and deliver safety training
• Project management to lead and implement safety processes
• Strong relationship-building with hourly and salaried staff
• Proven planning, prioritizing and deadline discipline
• Proficiency in MS Office and safety software

Responsibilities

• Provide technical safety and health expertise to leadership for implementation of safety processes
• Oversee full implementation of safety programs, training, and audits to ensure compliance
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State and local safety standards
• Coach Safety Lead Team and committees for effectiveness
• Address high risks via risk-based safety plan
• Participate in incident investigations to identify root causes
• Coordinate onboarding safety processes for new employees
• Support safety-related project management (e.g., Management of Change)
• Monitor annual safety training and audit safety systems
• Collaborate with business groups to meet objectives
• Demonstrate safe leadership and strong administrative skills
