Job summary

ALCOM LLC is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support daily safety operations at our Winslow, Maine plant. The role focuses on training, audits, injury management, and shop-floor compliance across multiple lines.

The ideal candidate will have a two-year degree (or equivalent work history) in a related field and OSHA 30 certification, with prior safety experience in an industrial setting. This is a full-time, temporary 18-month assignment with typical 7:00 AM–5:30 PM shifts, Monday through

Qualifications

• Two-year degree preferred; may consider extensive related work history.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Safety work experience in industrial manufacturing or multi-site environments.
• Must have workers' compensation claims management experience.
• Strong PC and technology skills.
• Effective small-group training and presentation abilities.
• Excellent time management and ability to set priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day safety department activities for local plant operations.
• Assist with safety training, meetings, audits, injury management, and SOP compliance.
• Coordinate onboarding safety training and reporting.
• Support safety programs like hearing conservation, fall protection, scaffolding, SDS sheets.
• Facilitate safety committee meetings and collaborate with Materials and Logistics groups.
• Assist with new safety policy and SOP implementations.
• Participate in weekly safety audits and line walks.
• Document incident reports and support investigations (5 Whys).
• Support workers' compensation processes and return-to-work coordination.
• Conduct PPE observations and ensure policy compliance with supervisors.
