Job summary

SMS group is seeking a Mechanical Repair and Assembly Technician to repair, install, adjust, and maintain industrial production equipment. The role involves using cranes and forklifts to move equipment safely and includes tasks such as disassembly, reassembly, testing, welding, and programming CNC aspects.

The candidate will work with blueprints and manuals to ensure correct installation and operation, and will document repairs and parts used.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing or maintaining industrial production equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or manufacturer manuals.
• Proficient troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical faults.

Responsibilities

• Repair or maintain operating condition of industrial machinery and equipment.
• Repair or replace broken components of machinery or equipment.
• Disassemble machinery to remove parts and perform repairs.
• Test operation using measuring devices to diagnose malfunctions.
• Reassemble equipment after inspections and repairs.
• Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts and machinery.
• Inspect parts for defects and wear.
• Operate newly repaired machinery to verify repairs.
• Record parts used and order replacements as needed.
• Document repairs and maintenance performed.
• Study manuals to determine correct installation or operation.
• Cut and weld metal to repair or fabricate parts.
• Enter codes to program computer-controlled machinery.
• Demonstrate equipment functions to operators.
