Job summary

Alstom in Los Angeles seeks an Industrial and Reliability Engineer to design robust, scalable rail systems solutions. You’ll optimize manufacturing and maintenance processes across projects and sites, collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed reliability into product development.

Responsibilities include reliability testing, root-cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement. You’ll mentor junior engineers and help reduce downtime while advancing Alstom’s mobility goals.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Industrial / Mechanical / Heavy Equipment Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with reliability processes and tools (RCM, FMECA, Fault Tree, Reliability Predictions).
  • Familiarity with maintenance optimization practices.
  • Knowledge of rail sector (preferred).
  • Experience with standardized engineering methods and procedures.
  • Experience with data-analysis/visualization tools like Power BI/Power Query.

  • Optimize manufacturing and maintenance processes for scalability across multiple projects and sites
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate reliability engineering into all phases of product development

What You Bring

Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Engineering, or a related field (preferred),

Experience or understanding of Industrial / Reliability processes, principles, and tools such as RCM, FMECA, Fault Tree, and Reliability Predictions,

Knowledge of the rail sector and transportation equipment (preferred),

Familiarity with maintenance optimization practices and principles,

Experience in developing and introducing standardized engineering methods and procedures,

  • Power BI, Power Query, or similar data-analysis and visualization tools.

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships while collaborating effectively across teams,

Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.

Base salary range: $75,000 - $100,000

For U.S. positions that could be performed in Los Angeles or San Francisco, pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, Alstom will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
