About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading commercial/industrial construction firm, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of a major 10-year construction program based in Abilene, TX. This is a long-term, high-impact role for a construction professional who thrives on full project ownership — from planning and scheduling through cost control and field execution.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
- Coordinate permits, approvals, and utility/interface requirements, including underground utility locates with municipalities/agencies.
- Establish and maintain the project schedule, key milestones, and progress tracking.
- Attend project meetings; identify risks and mitigation strategies.
- Support the Superintendent with daily construction activities and coordinate civil, electrical, and mechanical teams.
- Manage subcontractor performance and interface coordination.
- Ensure material/equipment deliveries align with schedule and verify proper work sequencing.
- Create and submit RFIs and change orders; monitor costs, budget impacts, and progress billings.
- Provide forecasts, variance reporting, and review/approve contractor and vendor invoices.
- Own day-to-day project execution and accountability for scope, schedule, cost, quality, coordination, and delivery.
- Work closely with the Superintendent and field leadership on daily progress, manpower, production, and field issues.
- Coordinate across field operations, Scheduling, Cost Controls, Procurement, and Accounting/Finance.
- Manage changing priorities in a fast-paced client environment and maintain communication across field, internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
- Use schedule, cost, and field data to identify problems early and drive corrective action.
- Primavera P6 and Procore softwares will be used

Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant Project Management experience with true project ownership (not solely APM/project support experience).
- Open to Project Manager or Senior Project Manager title, depending on experience and compensation alignment.
- Strong skills in full project execution/ownership, schedule and cost management, field coordination, scope management, procurement, reporting, risk/issue management, and construction/client communication.
- MUST be able to accept employement in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
