Job summary

Tata Consulting Engineers USA, LLC (TCE) seeks a Process/Mechanical Designer to support capital and cost projects with detailed mechanical and process design deliverables. The role collaborates with project managers, engineers, drafters, and construction teams to ensure safe, cost-effective execution.

Responsibilities include developing complete design packages, revising drawings, and ensuring compliance with codes and company procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or drafting certification preferred.
Experience reading P&IDs and mechanical drawings.
5–8 years of mechanical or process design in chemical/industrial environments.

Responsibilities

Adhere to Safety, Integrity, Partnership, Respect, and Ownership.
Develop design packages from concept to construction deliverables.
Create/revise mechanical and process drawings (P&IDs, equipment, general arrangements).
Interpret sketches, field notes, and verbal instructions for accurate documents.
Conduct field verification and site walkdowns to support design accuracy.
Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve challenges.
Review drawings for accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
Incorporate redlines and as-built updates into final packages.
Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and procedures.
Participate in design reviews and assess constructability and safety.
Prepare and revise Bills of Materials and technical specs.
Follow QA/QC requirements.
