Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Avon Lake, OH is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support engineering activities that optimize safety, quality and productivity in our manufacturing processes. You will apply engineering principles and analytics to advance continuous improvement of processes and products.

You will lead time studies, ergonomics evaluations and cycle time analyses, develop efficient labor distributions, and coordinate changes with production supervision.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field and 3+ years of related work experience.
• Experience with time studies, cycle counting, ergonomics, and workstation setup.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.
• Industrial/Mechanical engineering background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive development and installation of labor standards and methods; track labor and line balancing.
• Conduct Job Ergonomics evaluations.
• Analyze process constraints and perform cycle time analysis.
• Allocate manpower efficiently and review daily manpower; analyze plant methods and standards.
• Prepare cost estimates for new or revised methods and standards.
• Review changes in plant layout, processes, and material handling.
• Study production and non-production operations to identify improvement opportunities.
• Conduct time and motion/MODAPTS studies and evaluate employee proposals.
• Develop cycle line layouts using ACAD and lead methodization and allocations.
• Coordinate engineering changes; perform value stream mapping and process audits.
• Develop cost-saving project proposals and document projects.
• Interface with Production Supervision and UAW to resolve disputes.
• Assist planning labor allocations for mix and line speed changes.
