Qualifications

• AAS in Mechanical or Plant Utilities Technology or AOS in HVAC/Construction & Maintenance, or related military training, or Journeyman Steamfitter.
• At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing facility with references.
• 3+ years in Commercial HVAC service and installation.
• Pipe welding certifications.
• Licensed Plumber in NYS.
• EPA refrigerant certification.
• Experience with underground piping.
• Backflow preventer certification.
• 5+ years in a manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Installs & repairs pipes, fixtures, and valves for water, gas, steam, and air systems.
• Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.
• Assembles fittings and valves for installation.
• Modifies length of pipes and other plumbing materials.
• Use saws and pipe cutters as necessary.
• Installs heating and air-conditioning systems, including water heaters.
• Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing systems.
• Performs inspections, tests for leaks, and identifies problems.
• Follows health and safety standards and building codes.

Job Description Summary

PRIMARY FUNCTION Under general supervision Layout, design, install, assemble, fabricate, maintain, test and repair pipes and fittings of mechanical utility piping systems, chillers that include hot water, chilled water, steam, compressed air, sewer, chemicals, fuel oil, gases and other related systems following local and state codes. Read and understand system prints and schematics. In this role, you will be required to move and work in confined spaces, up and down ladders and to work from ladders, scaffolding and aerial lift platforms.

Job Description DUTIES & RESPONSILIBITIES

• Installs & repairs pipes, fixtures, and valves, for water, gas, steam, and air systems.
• Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation.
• Assembles fittings and valves for installation.
• Modifies length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed.
• Use saws and pipe cutters as necessary.
• Installs heating and air-conditioning systems, including water heaters.
• Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing systems.
• Performs inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts.
• Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems.
• Analyses problems and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repair.
• Follows health and safety standards and complies with building codes.
• Work at heights in scissor lifts and boom lifts
• Operate fork trucks for material movement and unloading of deliveries
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
• Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
• Order materials and parts for job execution
• Use current CMMS work order system to process and complete job assignments
• Access Building Management System to review HVAC systems and make changes if needed
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Must have at least one of the following: AAS degree in Mechanical or Plant Utilities Technology AOS degree in HVAC or Construction & Maintenance Military Training Course in related fields Journeyman Steamfitter

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

• 3 years' work experience in a Manufacturing Facility (with references)
• 3 years' proven experience in Commercial HVAC service and installation.
• Pipe Welding certifications Licensed Plumber in NYS 5+ Years in a manufacturing facility Experience with underground piping Backflow preventer certification EPA Refrigerant certification

The hourly base pay range for this position is $34.68 to $43.89. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for contractually negotiated general wage increases and COLA increases. *The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
