Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a PLC Control Technician to install, program, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated control systems at our on-site facilities. You will support production by diagnosing issues, implementing corrective actions, and optimizing automation processes.

The role requires hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation hardware, plus strong problem-solving and teamwork in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Controls, Electronics, Electrical Technology, Automation, or related field.
• Experience with PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation, Siemens, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital I/O, instrumentation, motor controls, and automation.
• Knowledge of VFDs, sensors, relays, actuators, and industrial networks.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and control systems in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Good problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with engineering, maintenance, and operations to support production goals.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission PLC-based control systems, HMIs, and related automation equipment.
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs using ladder logic and standard methods.
• Design, update, and maintain HMI screens for operator efficiency and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control system components to minimize downtime.
• Maintain, calibrate, and test sensors, transmitters, actuators, motor controls, and drives.
