Job summary

Detroit Diesel Corporation is seeking a Non-IT Project/Program Manager for an 18‑month assignment in Redford, MI. You will lead industrial construction projects, manage drawings and contractor performance to meet technical requirements, schedule and budget. Project scopes range from $1M to $20M; the role is on site with a 7:00 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m. shift and occasional weekend OT. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in construction management, at least 3 years of experience managing industrial

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management.
• Minimum 3 years managing industrial projects.
• Ability to lead daily meetings.
• Proven experience holding people accountable.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Experience in a UAW environment preferred.
• Ability to discuss past industrial projects with interviewer.

Responsibilities

• Manage challenging industrial projects up to $20M.
• Lead regular project meetings to evaluate deliverables and schedule.
• Provide weekly updates to management.
• Evaluate options and make recommendations within budget and schedule.
• Direct construction of plant infrastructure and evaluate deliverables.
• Provide technical assistance to manufacturing engineering and operations.
• Use innovative thinking to solve problems.
• Ensure documentation is kept current and accurate.
