Job summary

RemX | The Workforce Experts in Matthews, NC is seeking a detail-oriented Piping Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for industrial and commercial piping projects. You will perform takeoffs, price components, and collaborate with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors to develop winning proposals.

The role requires reading drawings and specs, generating RFIs, evaluating bids, and maintaining estimating databases.

Qualifications

2+ years of estimating experience in industrial piping.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents.
Experience performing detailed labor and material takeoffs.
Knowledge of estimating techniques, budgeting, and cost control practices.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

Review RFQs, RFPs, bid packages, drawings, and specifications.
Perform detailed piping takeoffs and develop project estimates.
Analyze construction documents to identify scope, discrepancies, and potential risks.
Generate RFIs to clarify missing or conflicting information in project documents.
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
Prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost analyses.
Develop bid clarifications, exclusions, and proposal documentation.
Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within required deadlines.
Maintain estimating databases and update cost data.
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
Participate in project turnover meetings and support operations post-award.
