Austin Industrial is seeking a skilled Pipefitter for the Decatur, IL area. The ideal candidate will lay out, assemble, install and maintain complex pipe systems and related equipment for industrial production.

You will work with steam, hot water, heating and cooling systems and contribute to safe and efficient plant operations. Typical duties include pipe cutting and threading, mounting pipes, planning layouts, installing controls, and valve operations.

Formación

• 3–5 years of journeyman level experience in pipefitting.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Ability to lay out, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems per specs.

Responsabilidades

• Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders.
• Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
• Install automatic controls used to regulate pipe systems.
• Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids.
• Inspect work sites for obstructions and to ensure that holes will not cause structural weakness.
• Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded manholes, basements, or facility floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
