Job summary

Kratos Defense is seeking an entry-level spray painter to apply industrial paint finishes to parts, sub-assemblies, shelters, and trailers in a shop environment. You will prepare units, mix paints, and operate spray equipment to meet government standards with minimal rework.

This full-time, on-site role requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year of related experience. Training, PPE, and safety protocols are provided to ensure quality and a safe workplace.

Responsibilities

• Receives instructions verbally or from layouts of detailed prints.
• Receives parts, sub-assemblies, and partial or completed units at workstation.
• May prepare the unit for painting by washing, drying, masking, tacking, and cleaning.
• Performs checks to ensure units are properly prepared before painting.
• May move units within paint areas and spray booths as needed.
• Selects and mixes paint to desired consistency and materials.
• Cleans spray room and equipment.
• Operates spray operation and applies primer/finish coats as required.
• Applies paint to specified thickness and avoids runs to meet government standards.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.
