Job summary

Lee Industrial Contracting, based in Pontiac, MI, is seeking a mechanically inclined helper to support painting and surface prep operations. You will prepare surfaces, mix and apply coatings under supervision, and keep the shop clean and safe. Prior experience with painting tasks and equipment handling is preferred, and a valid driver’s license is required.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and reliable communication with foremen and other departments to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined with common hand tools (tape measure, drills, levels, etc.).
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Self-directed and able to work independently.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Follow foremen and supervisors to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Prepare metal and composite surfaces for paint application.
• Mix, match, and spray coatings using HVLP and airless systems under supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and dispose of waste properly.
• Assist with minor body repairs and inspection of finished work for quality.
