Job summary

Héroux-Devtek Inc. in Strongsville, OH is hiring a painter for the HDI Landing Gear division. You will prepare and spray-paint landing gear components and related assemblies, ensuring clean surfaces and proper masking where required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carries out a visual inspection of the part to be painted and ensures it is properly cleaned.
• Adjusts pistols, prepares required mixtures according to the prescribed standards, cleans parts.
• Performs occasional masking and demasking operations; prepares mixtures of sealants and paints as required and applies with manual or mechanical equipment.
• Paints parts using HVLP gravity fed spray gun for small to large components.
• Documents and maintains traceability in compliance with quality standards such as AS9100 and NADCAP.

Summary:

The Painter prepares and spray-paints parts or assemblies such as: landing gear, hydraulic cylinders, detail parts, etc. The painter also prepares various parts by performing identification and broaching operations on parts to be painted or in preparation for delivery.

Main responsibilities:

• Carries out a visual inspection of the part to be painted and ensures it is properly cleaned
• Adjusts pistols, prepares required mixtures according to the prescribed standards, cleans parts
• Performs occasional masking and demasking operationsPrepares mixtures of transparent sealant (CLEAR) and those required for operations of cosmetic painting (retouching), and performs their application using the equipment provided, whether manual or mechanical (brush, 'air brush', HVLP, etc.)
• Paints small (~2 foot) to large (~12 foot) titanium and steel parts using an HVLP gravity fed spray gun
• Document & maintain traceability in accordance with all quality standards, such as AS9100 and NADCAP.
