Job summary

Dearing Compressor & Pump is seeking an industrial painter to spray paint machines and components, including prep work and coatings. The role requires operating spray equipment, masking, color matching, and cleaning tools after use.

Responsibilities include moving parts with a forklift, inspecting surfaces, and performing regular inventories. Flexible scheduling and overtime may be required; teamwork is essential to maintain production flow and quality standards.

Qualifications

One year certificate from college or technical school or related experience and training preferred.
1 year experience operating industrial paint equipment.
2-5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Must be available to work a flexible schedule and overtime.
Ability to read and interpret tape measure.
Must be able to work as a team.
Ability to pass a drug test.

Responsibilities

Attach slings to pipes or other parts to move with a forklift into positions or onto stands for painting.
Clean grease and dirt from product.
Apply masking tape over parts and areas not to be coated.
Select and mix coating liquid to produce desired color.
Pour coating liquid into spray container and connect gun to air hose.
Turn sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray.
Pull trigger and direct spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
Coat areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush.
Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
Remove rust from metal with powered wire wheel or wire brush.
Perform weekly inventories on supplies and paint.

Summary

Spray paint surfaces of machines, manufactured products, or working area with protective or decorative material such as paint, epoxy, or polyurethane with conventional or airless sprayers and performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
