Job summary

J&B Industrial Services in Wisconsin is seeking an entry-level coating technician to apply powder coating, wet paint, Cerakote, hydro dip and related techniques on diverse parts. No experience required; training will be provided to develop proficiency in coating preparation, application, curing and inspection.

You will operate spray booths and coating equipment, monitor part quality, ensure safety, and support efficient production with attention to detail and teamwork.

  • Familiarity with basic safety and quality standards is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare parts and materials for coating according to procedures.
  • Follow all powder coating application practices.
  • Operate coating equipment including spray guns and booths.
  • Monitor gauges and equipment to detect defects.
  • Assess paint flow and coating quality using visual checks and instruments.
  • Bake parts at appropriate temperatures within time limits.
  • Maintain knowledge of coatings and pretreatment processes.
  • Ensure production quality and on-time delivery per company goals.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and housekeeping.
  • Load and unload parts using appropriate handling equipment.

Job description

No experience required. Will train.

Individual will use various painting techniques that will include but are not limited to powder coat, wet paint spraying, Cerakote, hydro dip and several other techniques on various materials. Material preparation such as abrasive blasting, cleaning, dipping, masking, among other techniques is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, however, other duties may apply.)
  • Prepare parts and materials for coating as required
  • Follow all principles and practices of powder coating application
  • Operate all coating equipment including guns, hoppers and booth collection systems
  • Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects
  • Determine paint flow, viscosity and coating quality by performing visual inspections or by using quality control instruments and methods
  • Bake parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitations
  • Knowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, wash and pre-treatments
  • Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently, and are consistent with company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performance
  • Ensure quality standards and processes are used throughout facility
  • Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environmentLoad and unload parts or product onto fixtures
  • Good knowledge of the mechanics and repair of painting equipment
  • Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment
  • Operate loading and unloading equipment (fork truck, pallet jack, hand, etc.) in a safe and responsible manner
