Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial or commercial painting experience required.
• Experience with industrial coatings, epoxies, polyurethanes preferred.
• Ability to read measurements and customer specifications.
• Experience painting large fabricated steel products.
• Pass competency and spray tests and pre-employment physical including drug screen.
• Manufacturing environment experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare steel/aluminum surfaces for painting through cleaning, masking, sanding, grinding, or blasting.
• Apply industrial coatings with conventional and air-assisted spray equipment.
• Paint large fuel tanks, generator enclosures, structural steel frames, and other fabricated products according to customer specifications.
• Mix and apply two-part paint systems while maintaining proper coating thickness and finish quality.
• Inspect completed work for quality, appearance, and compliance with project requirements.
• Perform touch-ups and corrective work as needed.
• Troubleshoot paint application issues and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain painting equipment, tools, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
• Work closely with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing schedules and customer expectations.
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and PPE requirements.

• Hire Type: Temp-to-Hire (3+ months)
• 1st Shift: 5am - 1:30pm CT (Monday to Friday) – eligible for OT
• 2nd Shift: 4pm – 12:30am CT (Monday to Friday) – eligible for OT

Overview: Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL heavy-gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures that house fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. We are seeking experienced Industrial Painters to join our manufacturing team and help deliver high-quality finished products for customers across the power generation industry. This role is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing large fabricated steel products while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience applying industrial coatings in a manufacturing, commercial, or heavy equipment environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial painting experience is required.
• Experience applying industrial coatings, epoxies, polyurethanes, or similar heavy-duty paint systems is strongly preferred.
• Experience painting large fabricated steel products, structural steel, heavy equipment, tanks, trailers, or similar industrial components preferred.
• Experience operating spray equipment and applying two-part paint systems.
• Automotive painting experience alone is not sufficient unless combined with industrial or commercial coating experience.
• Ability to read measurements, work instructions, and customer specifications.
• Manufacturing or production environment experience required.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to support changing production priorities and occasional overtime as needed.
• Must pass a competency test, spray test, and pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
