Job summary

Global Power Components in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our growing team. This onsite, direct-hire role supports day-to-day production issues and drives continuous improvement for engineered-to-order products on our manufacturing floor.

You will work across Engineering, Safety, Quality Control, and Purchasing to optimize processes, develop SOPs, and lead improvement initiatives while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and a drive to become SME.
• Enjoys hands-on, fast-paced production floor work.
• Capable of handling multiple projects with shifting priorities.
• Collaborates across Engineers, Safety, Quality Control, and Purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for day-to-day production issues and CI projects for engineered-to-order products.
• Create SOPs capturing current processes while implementing safety, ergonomic, and production-rate improvements.
• Audit and improve department quality and production goals; serve as a technical point of contact.
• Opportunities for fixture design, capital equipment assessment, project scoping, and team leadership.

Overview:

Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. Global Power Components is a privately held, financially sound, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully-equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. As a result of our expansion, we are seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our growing team.

Responsibilities:

• Hands-on support of day-to-day production issues as well as mid & long-term continuous improvement (CI) team projects related to the production of engineered to order (ETO) products.


• Creation of standard operating procedures (SOP) capturing current production processes while implementing safety, ergonomic, and production rate improvements.


• Development, auditing, and continuous improvement of department quality and production goals while serving as a technical point of contact for supervisors and production operators.


• Opportunities for fixture design, capital equipment assessment, project scoping, team leadership, and more.

Qualifications:

• Ability to become intimately familiar with manufacturing processes. Desire to become a subject matter expert!


• Interested in working primarily in a hands-on, fast-paced, production floor environment.


• Able to work on multiple projects with changing priorities.


• Work equally well alone or in a cross functional team with other Engineers, Safety, Quality Control, Purchasing, etc.


• Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline or a related field of study.
