Job summary

Sulzer is seeking an Industrial Painter in Portland, OR to prepare finished pumps for customers. The role includes material handling, painting, and finishing according to specifications and work orders.

You will read drawings, mix paints, apply finishes, and perform quality checks while following safety procedures and ISO 9001 guidelines. This full-time position requires attention to detail and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of industrial or automotive painting experience
  • Ability to wear a respirator
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass 7-year criminal history background check
  • Ability to pass a drug screen

Responsibilities

  • Move materials through the department to meet on-time delivery goals
  • Operate overhead and floor-lifting equipment for loading/unloading on the paint line (>50 lbs)
  • Mix paints with pre-coating agents to specified colors/textures
  • Follow specification for paint mixing and application
  • Read and interpret drawings and material data sheets
  • Maintain accurate records and perform quality inspections
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 quality procedures and safety policies
