Job summary

Link-Belt Cranes, a global leader in mobile cranes with headquarters in Lexington, KY, seeks a Finisher A for 2nd shift to apply paint to surfaces and oversee final paint processes on cranes. The role involves following formulas to mix paints, prep work, masking, and inspecting coatings.

The position requires at least a high school diploma or GED, and 1+ year of paint experience in manufacturing, plus knowledge of lean manufacturing and ability to operate material handling equipment, jibs, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; technical/vocational education preferred.
• Minimum of one year of paint experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Must be able to operate material handling equipment, jibs and overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

• Follow a formula to mix paints to proper color, thickness, and consistency.
• Prep and mask surfaces for touch-up and final paint application.
• Visually inspect coating quality.
• Operate material handling equipment to transport product and avoid damage.
• Follow safety, security and environmental procedures; keep area clean and organized per 5S.
• Follow procedures for storage and use of Point-of-Use material.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Currently we have a Finisher A role open on 2 nd shift. As a Finisher A, one will apply paint to surfaces of parts and final paint processes of cranes.

Essential functions of the position include:

• Following a formula, mix paints to proper color, thickness and consistency.
• Prep (may include shotblast) and mask surface area for touch-up and/or final paint application
• Visually inspect the quality of the coating.
• Operates material handling equipment to transport product and avoid damage.
• Safety, Security and Environmental:
  • Use equipment and materials properly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area per “5 S” principles
  • Observe safety, security and environmental procedures.
  • Report potentially unsafe conditions/situations
• Follow all procedures related to the storage and consumption of Point-of-Use material.
• Perform other job/tasks as assigned.

General qualifications for this role:

• High School Diploma/GED. Technical/Vocational education preferred
