Aerotek is seeking an Industrial Painter for a contract-to-hire role in Decatur, IL. The position is full-time in a manufacturing setting, focusing on surface preparation, spray painting, and quality finish.

You will operate spray equipment, follow instructions, maintain equipment, and contribute to a safe, clean work environment while growing with a stable company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of industrial, manufacturing, automotive, or production painting experience.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and production specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to stand, bend, walk, and lift throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal surfaces through cleaning, sanding, masking, and other finishing processes
• Apply liquid paint coatings using industrial spray equipment
• Inspect painted products to ensure proper coverage, finish quality, and adherence to specifications
• Perform touch-ups and minor rework as needed
• Mix paints and adjust equipment settings to achieve optimal results
• Maintain painting equipment and assist with routine cleaning and upkeep
• Follow all production, quality, and safety procedures
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with workplace standards

What You'll Do

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with masking, sanding, and surface preparation
• Familiarity with HVLP, pressure pot, pneumatic, or airless spray systems
• Automotive painting or refinishing experience
• Experience mixing paints, matching finishes, and adjusting spray equipment
• Manufacturing, fabrication, powder coating, or metal finishing experience

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility that is not climate controlled, with warmer temperatures during the summer months. Team members will wear required PPE and spend most of the day standing, walking, and handling metal products while supporting production operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Decatur, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
