Job summary

Petrosmith is seeking an experienced industrial Painter and Coater to apply protective finishes to steel tanks and vessels. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our products meet quality standards and withstand harsh environments.

Responsibilities include surface prep, primers and coatings, inspection of finishes, and collaboration with welders and fabricators. A high school diploma and 2+ years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial painting/coating experience preferred.
• Familiarity with SSPC coating standards.
• Ability to read work orders and coating specs.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs. and work in confined or elevated spaces.

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and masking.
• Apply primers and industrial coatings using spray, brush, or roller.
• Inspect finishes for thickness, uniformity, and defects.
• Mix paint and coatings per job specifications.
• Maintain painting equipment and spray booths.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE and confined space procedures.
• Document work performed and materials used.
• Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and quality teams.
