Job summary

Siemens Energy, Inc. seeks an Operational Technology Engineer to advance digitization and automation across manufacturing operations. You will develop OT software, connect machines and sensors, support MES interfaces, and improve data capture for production equipment.

This role collaborates with manufacturing, engineering, and IT teams to drive Industry 4.0 initiatives, optimize equipment performance, traceability, quality and safety, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in OT systems, industrial automation, manufacturing technology, or a related production environment.
• Experience with C#/.NET and Python, along with knowledge of PLC interfaces, machine signals, sensors, actuators, and industrial control systems.
• Familiarity with industrial networking, MES integration, IIoT platforms, data acquisition, APIs, and OT-to-enterprise system connectivity.
• Strong troubleshooting, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with an understanding of traceability, predictive maintenance, and machine safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Support shop floor digitalization and automation through OT software, machine connectivity, and data capture solutions
• Integrate machines, sensors, actuators, and production systems with MES and enterprise platforms
• Develop and maintain IIoT, monitoring, and data acquisition solutions to improve equipment performance and reporting
• Enable traceability and quality through smart tool connectivity, inspection interfaces, and production data integration
• Support condition monitoring and predictive maintenance solutions to improve equipment availability and reliability
• Help ensure OT systems are safe, reliable, and maintainable across manufacturing operations
