Job summary

KB Signaling invites a Summer Intern to join the Industrial Operations team in Grain Valley, MO, gaining hands-on exposure to safety systems, documentation, and project management during upgrades.

The role supports the Facilities Manager, contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure OSHA/VPP readiness, equipment data management, and progress tracking across projects at Grain Valley and Warrensburg.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Industrial Tech or a related field.
• Ability to work independently, identifying improvement opportunities or discrepancies.
• Effective communication skills, with an ability to tailor approach to different groups.
• Strong organizational, time management and data management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and follow through on deadlines.
• Comfort working around industrial equipment and learning applicable safety principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office / 365 tools (Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.).
• Interest in project management, construction oversight, or safety compliance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support safety compliance and project management initiatives across the Grain Valley and Warrensburg sites.
• Assist with equipment data management and construction oversight.
• Coordinate communication between contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Track project progress, schedules, and deliverables while ensuring safety and documentation standards.
• Assist with OSHA/VPP readiness activities and audits.
