Job summary

Belden Inc. is seeking a Professional Services Engineer to lead end-to-end OT/network design, deployment, and commissioning for a major U.S. customer in the Greater Boston area.

You will own projects from assessment through handoff, coordinating with SCADA/controls, ISPs, and Belden teams to deliver secure, reliable sites. The role emphasizes industrial wired/wireless networking, OT security, and field execution, with 50–60% travel.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in network engineering for OT/industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of Ethernet switching, routing, VLANs, STP/RSTP.
• Experience designing or supporting resilient industrial topologies (MRP a plus).
• Familiar with firewalls and VPNs in production networks.

Responsibilities

• Assess and design OT/industrial network architectures for distributed sites.
• Produce network diagrams, IP plans, BOMs, and commissioning runbooks.
• Configure and deploy industrial switches and security infrastructure.
• Engineer and troubleshoot L2/L3 in field conditions.
• Implement firewall policies, segmentation, and secure connectivity.
• Coordinate turn-up with customers, ISPs, field teams, and SCADA groups.
• Perform commissioning, validation, QA/QC, and root-cause troubleshooting.
• Review proposals/designs to identify risks and improve deployments.
• Track time and project status in a services environment.
