Job summary

IES is seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic to join the Maintenance / Engineering team in Columbus, GA. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining motors, electrical equipment, and related mechanical systems used in industrial machinery and plant operations.

You will perform routine maintenance, inspect components, rewind motors, and troubleshoot using meters, oscilloscopes, and vibration analyzers. Safety and compliance are emphasized in all tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining motors and electrical equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in industrial machinery.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical motors, pumps, conveyors, and other rotating equipment.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on motors and associated machinery.
• Inspect motors for wear and replace bearings, seals, and electrical components.
• Rewind motors, repair stators and rotors, and perform insulation testing.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify motor and electrical system faults.
• Analyze drawings and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot issues.
• Assist with installation, alignment, and commissioning of new motors.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
