Responsibilities

• Prepare unpainted surfaces using shot blasting and pneumatic sanding.
• Operate a rail-fed continuous shot blaster to prep surfaces.
• Mask surfaces for precise paint applications; wipe and clean components.
• Use HVLP paint guns and pressure pots to apply primers and topcoats.
• Work with epoxy and polyurethane coatings and mix materials as required.
• Maintain paint guns, sprayers, pots and related equipment.
• Identify and address coating issues to maintain quality standards.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM

Location: Houston, TX 77040

Pay Range: $36.00–$40.00 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Mobile Equipment Painter to join a repetitive manufacturing shop environment. This position is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying high-quality primer and finish coatings to both individual components and fully assembled products.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating conventional and high-volume, low-pressure (HVLP) paint equipment and working with industrial coating systems. Attention to detail, consistency, safety, and the ability to produce a high-quality finished product are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare unpainted surfaces using a variety of methods, including shot blasting and pneumatic sanding.
• Operate a rail-fed continuous shot blaster to prepare surfaces for painting.
• Use pneumatic sanders to properly prepare components and assemblies.
• Mask surfaces and components to ensure clean, precise paint application.
• Operate HVLP paint guns and pressure pots to apply primer and finished topcoats.
• Apply coatings to both individual component parts and assembled finished products.
• Work with industrial coating materials, including epoxy and polyurethane paints.
• Properly mix and prepare paint and coating materials according to established procedures.
• Clean, inspect, and maintain paint guns, sprayers, pressure pots, mixing containers, and related equipment.
• Identify and address surface-preparation or coating issues to maintain quality standards.
• Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and respirators.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all applicable workplace safety procedures and manufacturing standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience using paint guns.
• Demonstrated experience operating conventional paint guns.
• Experience using pressure pot systems.
• Hands-on experience working with epoxy paints.
• Hands-on experience working with polyurethane paints.
• Ability to lift at least 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding work.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work effectively in a repetitive manufacturing environment.
• Must be willing and able to pass a drug screening.
• Must be willing and able to pass a background check.

Preferred / Beneficial Qualifications

• Experience applying zinc primer coatings.
• Experience painting large industrial equipment, machinery, components, or assembled products.
• Familiarity with industrial surface preparation and coating processes.

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on industrial position requiring the ability to:

• Lift and carry materials weighing 75+ pounds.
• Stand and work for extended periods.
• Repeatedly perform sanding, masking, painting, and surface-preparation activities.
• Work safely while wearing required PPE and respiratory protection.
